When I was a kid, the idea of gambling was not acceptable.

It’s kind of ironic that now there’s not a day that passes where I don’t have to gamble on something, and I would guess that you are risking a lot more every day than you realize.

Every time you have an idea, it ‘s a gamble if you’re going to share it with others.

When you make a decision, you are gambling.

Having that conversation that you are not sure about – and not sure how it is going to be received – is a big gamble. Heck, trusting is a massive risk of its own!

Trying to create something out of nothing takes the guts of a gambler because the rejection of this idea is worse than losing everything. Making the decision you know is not popular is necessary even when it hurts, a HUGE gamble.

You are called to do what no one has accomplished, reach people no one is reaching, or lead in the face of fear and potential failure. You have to make big bets to have significant gains.

I don’t believe we’ve put enough thought or research into gambling. If we’re going to gamble every day, we better start preparing to get better at the game. The problem when it comes to gambling is you never are going to beat the house. We’re going to lose more often than we win. Accept it. The only way to get better is to get bolder. Gamblers push past fear for the chance to win.

When you win, you have to leverage your earning to your next bet, or you start to play scared.

Sometimes you will get lucky.

Other times you will lose – and most likely you will lose amazingly bad.

You are betting on every decision, ideas, emotions, time, resources, money, equity, and momentum.

And here’s the thing – if you play it safe, you will never advance.

That’s not why you are in a position of leadership.
You are here for a reason.
Don’t play it safe; you’re here to bet like a baller.
You have to take some risks.
You have to go against logic sometimes – study the data, try your best, and leverage your data and your instincts.

Sometimes you have to try something new, even if it means you end up falling flat on your face.

The truth is – what use is it to play if you’re not willing to take the risk? So, get ready to go all in.

Be it bluff, brains, or brash; you have to take a chance and push in the chips.

The good news is, unlike cash, tomorrow you will have new ideas, more decisions to make, and the opportunity to lead better and more creatively. There are always more chances, and when you run out, you fill back up so you can keep going!

So bet! Bet on your team. Bet on your leadership. Gamble on your ideas, on your instincts, and on yourself. Without a few chances, you can’t accomplish everything that MUST BE DONE!

DON'T WASTE THIS CRISIS.
