Authentically Authentic
I got a chance to hang with my homey Joel the other day and he taught me some great stuff. Joel is a musician, but he is also a Facebook and programming genius. Facebook is actually able to track your status message and the impact that message has, as well as the length or depth of impact of said message.
Joel explained that the messages that impact the most, the longest, and are the most “long lasting” are the messages that are the most personal. The more personal and authentic that people became, the more impact their status update had on their Facebook friends.
I think that this theory holds true on a lot of other levels as well. The more authentic we are with our friends, the more we go deep with them personally, the better our relationships. The more authentic a communicator, the more respect and depth his/her message has with the listeners.
Are we living an authentic life? Do we hide behind masks because we are afraid of what other people will think about us and our issues? Are we willing to go deep with people and share from our experiences and hurts? The more authentic we become, the more we realize the importance of sharing, caring, and loving from a real place.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
