Bono’s Ten For The Next Ten

No secret my affinity for Bono. The first U2 song I heard was Mysterious Ways and I was hooked. Bono has marked milestones in my life. I now have a blog, he writes for the New York Times. :)

He has published his Ten For The Next Ten list in his column. You can peep it HERE:

Interesting the concept of People Power and the Upside Down Pyramid. Basically, the power has been on top and exerting pressure downward to the masses, for years. As the world develops, the masses are gaining more control, more influence, and their voice is now being heard. It is one of the greatest effects of technology and development. It is providing accountability for leaders. If you lead, and do not deliver on your promises, your word, the reasons why people followed you in the first place, they will leave…or worse, start leading in place of you.

Masses desire leaders. But leaders today and leaders yesterday must be very different. You must have vision. You must deliver on your word. You have to care about people as much as spreadsheets. It is the new life. You will not get great, creative, amazing efforts from people who can not believe in you and what you are about. And as technology and accountability collide, it forces leaders to be authentic. People are your greatest commodity…don’t forget it.
