By The Numbers
Would you live different if you did not live by the numbers? Sure it is easy to say, but is it easy to do?
Would you write different if you did not check your blog stats?
Would your twitters have the same tone if you did not know how many people followed you?
What would you post on Facebook if you could not see how many friends you have?
For better or worse, we sometimes censor ourselves because we know others are watching, reading, monitoring everything we say.
But what if life was easy enough that you could say EXACTLY what you feel. You could encourage who you wanted, when you wanted. You could express your frustrations, anger, hurt, joy, excitement, fear, and be really authentic.
I remember hearing someone say that integrity is how you live when no one is watching. I desire to live the same regardless of who is watching. And honestly no one is watching, but at the same time, everyone is watching.
Live true to who you are. Live how you have been created to live. Chase your dreams. Love. Hurt. And then share as much of it as you can so everyone can learn from you, be encouraged by you, and cheer for you.
It is a scary thought. I want to start communicating like no one is watching, or everyone.

I deleted my Twitter account and stopped using Facebook (but haven’t deleted it yet) for this very reason. I’m working on letting go of the other stuff.
Sarah, the only problem with that is, you stop using the influence God has given you with your group of people to use it for good. But I get what you are saying.
I love the way that you and @petewilson seem to be so real with your blogs. i desire to be that way myself. Thanks bro.
You’re right Brewster & that’s something I strongly considered, but I spend more time in my head thinking about tweets and all the other stuff. So much so that it was getting in the way of my relationship with God. I’d pick reading things on Facebook over reading the Bible. I guess I’m just not the type of person that can balence certain things with God….well I’m not there yet.
