I Gotta Be Free

I was talking to a friend this morning about a series he is starting at his church entitled “Incarceration”. I hope to never really be incarcerated but every day I get locked up. If I am honest I get locked up by emotions, my past, my future, my fear, the desire to please people, relationships, my pride, ego, religion, and all of it sucks. The truth is we are called to live free of all of this stuff. John 8:36 tells us that when God sets us free, we are free. No strings. But the problem is we hold on.

What if you went into a prison and opened the doors and told everyone they could leave. Yet, they all stayed? They trained themselves to stay locked up because of the habit when freedom was just a few steps away.

Im not trivializing what it takes to get free. Sometimes you have to fight like hell to get free, but once you win the battle, and you will win the battle, GET FREE, STAY FREE and LIVE IN THAT FREEDOM.

You know the truth, and that sets you free. (John 8:32)

Find your freedom today. If it takes talking to someone…start talking. If it takes making some changes in your life…start the transition. If it takes a sacrifice…kill what is holding you back.
It starts with you, it starts today, and only you can make the first move.
