I love this quote from Steve Jobs:
“Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
SIMPLE is actually really hard.
If we make things SIMPLE for our staff and volunteers, we tend to make them hard on our attendees or future attendees. When we make things SIMPLE for our attendees, frequently, it creates a lot more work for our teams, staff, or volunteers.
The truth is, our world is filled with options. The clearest path to action is the one that wins. If you are creating systems and not thinking about the end user experience, you are likely going to cripple the effectiveness of your efforts.
Make it simple. Keep it clean. Figure out how to eliminate steps. Move people from “emotion” of their decision to” action” fast and easy!
When you fight for simple you will make a lot of work for yourself, but you will also start to see traction and momentum in the things you do and that is the goal. We know, the easy it is for someone to take their next step in serving, community, giving, and most importantly, their faith journey, the more impact we will make.
Go fight for simple!
